Villeroy & Boch Althea Nova - New 2010
The traditional country shape of the octave has been rediscovered for Althea Nova. An octave is both simple and generous in its size, thus forming the ideal base for wide-surface décor applications. The central motifs of the décor are such herbs as cilantro, sage and lovage, rendered as botanical drawings and provided with their Latin names in handwritten scrolling. The design comes in two different interpretations of the herbal theme: one with the herbs finely drawn and shadowed, and one depicting detailed close-ups of the herbs.
