Child's cutlery 3pcs.
Tias EckhoffBorn for good design
Why should good design be reserved for adults? Nice designer clothes have long ago found their way into the children's wardrobe. The nursery's boring wooden furniture has met strong competition from stylishly designed children's furniture, and now Stelton sees to it that children can also enjoy world class design when eating.
It's not that plates, mugs and cutlery for children are missing on the shelves of the shops. On the contrary. But in almost all cases what was available were simply adult products made smaller, and then decorated with a fitting number of teddy bears or pink flowers.
Stelton stepped away from this trend, when they asked the designer Johan Verde to rethink a dinner set for kids consisting of a plate, mug and spoon. The result was Rebel, a dining set for kids that uncompromisingly takes its point of departure from the child's way of moving. And now the next products are ready for the little design-lovers and their parents.
In cooperation with the world famous Norwegian designer Tias Eckhoff Stelton has created a cutlery set for kids with a far more interesting form language, than seen before. The set is directly inspired by Tias Eckhoff's renowned cutlery Una from 1973. A set which mixes the informal with the formal in a brand new way - and which was given "royal" status, when the Norwegian court gave a complete set to the crown prince and crown princess as a wedding gift in 2001. The set is also exhibited at the International Museum of Design in London, so the design has definitely been in the best of hands.
The children's version of Una has a good grip and is easy to eat with. It is, of course, shorter than the adult version, but has kept the elegant and harmonic shapes of the adult set. Many parents will welcome the opportunity to finally set a beautiful table where the children's cutlery is a natural and beautiful part of the setting.
Beautiful and functional packaging
Right now the packaging of the children's product is a chapter in itself. When you buy the new Una children's cutlery set it is delivered in a practical and smartly designed lunchbox, which ought to be used separately.
